Iron Eagle Camp is looking for an additional First Cook.
As first cook, you will be responsible for preparing breakfast and dinner for upwards of 25+ people while on shift. Prepare weekly menus (breakfast, lunchtime soup, dinners), complete weekly grocery orders with camp manager, basic paperwork (daily temperature sheets, etc.), maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen, prepare baking/desserts, daily food prep, follow all OH&S and FoodSafe requirements, and all other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- Must be a friendly team player, have good communication skills, and can work independently and efficiently
- report and answer to camp manager for all assigned tasks and duties
- This position is rotational shift work (2 weeks on, 1 week off) with approx. 10-hour days (2-hour afternoon break)
- Cooking experience is a must, cooking experience in a camp setting is a plus
- Baking experience is a must, baking experience in a camp setting is a plus
- Reliable transportation to and from remote camp is a must (approx. 4.5 hour drive north of Edmonton)
- Health benefits are available after 3 months of continuous employment
- A private camp room will be available to you in a designated staff hallway for use when on shift and all meals will be provided while on shift.
- Compensation will be discussed during the phone interview
