Job Summary
The Youth Resiliency Coordinator is a compassionate professional with a genuine passion for supporting Indigenous youth and helping them build confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections. This role provides relationship-based, culturally responsive, and strengths-focused support to youth (12–24 years) through mentorship, one-to-one support, group programming, cultural activities, land-based learning, advocacy, and community connections. The successful candidate is committed to creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces where youth feel heard, respected, and empowered to reach their goals. This position requires flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and occasional statutory holidays to meet the needs of youth and community programming.

Responsibilities
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with youth.
- Provide individualized mentorship, guidance, and goal planning.
- Support youth in developing life skills, confidence, resilience, leadership, and healthy relationships.
- Promote positive identity development, cultural connection, and overall well-being.
- Plan and facilitate youth groups, workshops, cultural programming, leadership activities, and land-based experiences.
- Create engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
- Encourage youth voice, participation, and peer leadership.
- Support community events, outreach initiatives, and cultural celebrations.
- Complete intake, strengths-based assessments, and individualized support plans.
- Connect youth to internal programs and community resources.
- Provide advocacy, system navigation, and warm referrals.
- Collaborate with families, schools, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners.
- Maintain accurate case notes, service plans, attendance, and program documentation.
- Track outcomes and participate in program evaluation.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and professional standards.
Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of adolescent development, positive youth development, and trauma-informed practice.
- Strong relationship-building, mentoring, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Ability to engage youth through culturally responsive and strengths-based approaches.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Education, Indigenous Studies, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum two years of experience working with youth in community or social service settings.
- Experience working with Indigenous youth, families, and communities is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation.
- Successful Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Ability to travel throughout Calgary and surrounding communities.
- Participation in community events, land-based programming, cultural activities, and ceremonies.
- Commitment to continuous learning and participation in Indigenous cultural teachings and professional development.
