Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Home Support Worker to provide in-home senior care and daily living assistance for an elderly individual (77 years old) in a private household. The successful candidate will support the client with daily activities, ensure household safety, and promote independence while fostering a respectful and caring environment.
Duties
- Provide daily companionship and supportive care to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Assist the client with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals tailored to specific dietary needs and preferences.
- Administer routine medications accurately according to the care plan and provide medication reminders.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning the care areas, laundry, and organizing to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Support the client with safe mobility transfers within the home.
- Monitor health status, document daily care services provided, and report any changes or concerns to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Assist with essential household errands, such as grocery shopping or picking up pharmacy prescriptions.
Qualifications and Employment Requirements
- Education: Completion of secondary school (high school) or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 to 12 months of full-time, verifiable experience in senior care, home care, or an assisted living environment OR completion of a recognized training program in home support or a related field.
- Language: Full professional proficiency in English and Kamba is required to ensure household safety, follow care plans, and communicate during medical emergencies.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability in meal preparation, medication administration, and safe physical transfer/mobility assistance.
- Security: Must be able to pass a criminal record check and background screening.
Pay: $24.50-$29.00 per hour
