Currently seeking a Senior Superintendent, This role will be responsible to organize, administer and control project activities, under the direction and supervision of the Project Manager. Working closely with Operations, Project Management, and field leadership, the General Superintendent drives operational excellence, promotes a strong safety culture, and ensures all work is executed in accordance with company standards, client requirements, and project objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Superintendents and field leadership teams to drive operational excellence.
- Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
- Oversee total construction effort to ensure project is completed in accordance with budget and schedule.
- Participate in project planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to maximize operational efficiency.
- Lead regular site meetings and provide clear communication regarding project priorities, safety, and performance expectations.
- Foster a positive safety culture by promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with company and client safety expectations.
- Collaborate with clients, project stakeholders, and internal departments to ensure successful project execution and strong working relationships.
- Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned project(s).
- Ensure all company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to.
- Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.The Preferred
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Completion of a Construction, Technical Diploma, C.E.T. or Engineering Degree.
- 10+ years of experience with heavy civil construction, including earthworks, mine support services, road construction, and site development.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- A solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques.
- Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills.
- Superior leadership qualities with a demonstrated track record of dealing successfully with internal and external customers.
