Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Owner Operator to join our transportation team. This role involves managing your own commercial vehicle to transport freight efficiently and safely across various routes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and professionalism. As an Owner Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle maintenance and operational safety.
Duties
- Operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight across designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on your vehicle, including automotive repairs when necessary, to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during transit.
- Assist with warehouse operations by managing freight movement and ensuring proper storage practices.
- Uphold safety standards at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and commercial trucks.
- Strong background in freight handling, logistics, or transportation industries.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for maintaining vehicle reliability.
- Prior experience with commercial driving regulations and safety compliance is essential.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments.
