Matrix HR is partnering with a leading North American Energy and Utilities client to recruit an experienced IT Business Systems Analyst Financial Operations & Governance based in Calgary, Alberta!
This is an exciting opportunity to support operational excellence within a large enterprise Information Services (IS) organization.
This position will support IT governance, financial management, reporting, vendor management, and process automation initiatives that strengthen operational performance and decision-making. Working closely with Information Services, Supply Chain Management, Finance, and business stakeholders, you will help improve governance, reporting, IT financial management, and operational efficiency through data analytics and workflow automation.
Support IT financial management (ITFM), including spend tracking, governance reporting, operational reviews, and approval workflows.
Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, executive reporting, and analytics while ensuring data accuracy through validation and reconciliation.
Support vendor governance by tracking third-party spend, renewals, maintenance agreements, and subscriptions while partnering with Information Services, Supply Chain Management, and Finance.
Assist with process automation using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate, to improve governance, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Maintain SharePoint repositories, governance documentation, knowledge management content, and reporting artifacts.
Support operational governance activities, including access governance, approval workflows, documentation, knowledge transfer, and business continuity.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting, streamline manual processes, and enhance operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
Post-secondary education in Business, Information Technology, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Approximately 5+ years of experience supporting IT operations, governance, financial management, reporting, or business analysis.
Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, data management, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience with SharePoint administration, document management, and governance documentation.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Experience supporting IT Financial Management (ITFM), vendor management, procurement processes, Power Apps, Power Automate, ServiceNow, ERP systems, SOX controls, audit requirements, or large enterprise environments is considered an asset.
Play a key role in supporting enterprise IT governance, financial operations, and reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Information Services, Finance, Supply Chain Management, and business stakeholders.
Drive operational excellence through reporting, analytics, process automation, and continuous improvement.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week).
Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite, with the potential for a hybrid work schedule designed to support collaboration while providing flexibility.
