ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced Utility Locator to join our growing team. In this field-based role, you'll perform underground utility locates for construction and infrastructure projects throughout Edmonton and the surrounding communities , including Beaumont, Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Calmar, and Thorsby . Using industry-leading equipment, you'll deliver accurate, high-quality work while helping keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
Perform accurate underground utility locates for electrical, gas, water, sewer, telecommunications, and other buried infrastructure.
Interpret utility records, construction drawings, as-builts, GIS data, and site plans to develop effective locating strategies.
Operate electromagnetic locating equipment, ground penetrating radar (GPR), GPS, and other industry-standard technology.
Complete clear, organized locate documentation including sketches, field notes, reports, and digital records.
Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, municipalities, and internal project teams.
Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
Assist with training and mentoring newer team members as your experience grows.
Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety meetings and following all company and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys field work, takes pride in producing quality results, and has a strong commitment to safety.
Qualifications include:
Minimum 1 year of utility locating or related field experience.
Experience locating underground utilities using electromagnetic locating equipment and GPR.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, utility records, GIS information, and as-built drawings.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities in the field.
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
UALL, TALL, PALL, Locating 101, CSTS, Standard First Aid, or other industry certifications are considered strong assets.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, field-based position requiring year-round outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
