Your Role:
Join our team to support a long-term care home in Picton, ON delivering essential care and comfort to residents in a safe, respectful environment.
What You will Do:
- Assist residents with daily living (bathing, grooming, mobility, meals)
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Work collaboratively with RNs, RPNs, and other PSWs
- Document care and report changes in resident status
- Promote a clean, safe, and respectful care environment
What We’re Looking For:
- PSW Certificate: Completed a PSW Program that meets the appropriate standards established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association and must be a minimum of 600 hours in duration (including class time and practical experience time)
- 2+ year of experience in long-term care
- 2+ year of experience in providing one-on-one care to vulnerable residents
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Completion of a Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) and/or Community and Mental Health (CMH) certificate
- TB test (within the last 12 months) & COMPLETE immunization record
- Ability to complete the Vulnerable Sector Check (must be within the last 6 months)
- A compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented approach
- Ability to provide resident care in accordance with application legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English
