Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our dynamic dealership team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing vehicle maintenance or repairs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of automotive systems, and the ability to upsell services effectively. Prior dealership or mechanic experience is highly valued, and the candidate should possess solid mechanical knowledge to accurately assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to understand their vehicle concerns
- Explain repair and maintenance services clearly, providing estimates and timelines
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Upsell additional services or products that benefit the customer while meeting sales goals
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service recommendations, and work performed
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and foster ongoing relationships
- Keep the service area organized and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Assist in promoting dealership specials, warranties, or service packages to maximize sales opportunities
Experience
- Previous dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; relevant mechanic or automotive repair background is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and repairs
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively
- Experience in sales, upselling, and cash handling is advantageous
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
- Familiarity with automotive industry software or CRM systems is beneficial
