The Role – Own It. Deliver It. Crush It.
We’re looking for a dependable, hands-on team member who helps keep donation collection routes running safely and efficiently.
You support the driver with collecting and loading donated goods, maintaining clean and organized bin sites, and ensuring all items are handled with care. You thrive in a fast-paced, physical role that involves manual work, attention to detail, and following safety procedures at all times.
You communicate effectively with your driver partner, follow route instructions, and report any site issues as needed. By working safely, staying organized, and representing the company professionally, you help ensure smooth operations and support Recycling Rewards’ mission of sustainability and community impact.
Availability Requirement: Must be available to work starting at 6:15 AM for 8–10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend flexibility as required.
Employment Type: Seasonal contract position ending September 30, 2026.
Pay Rate: $17.60 / hour
What You’ll Be Doing - Every Day is Game Day
Departmental Duties
- Donation Collection Support:
- Support the driver during daily donation bin collections.
- Assist with collecting and loading donated materials onto the truck.
- Support the driver with unloading donation bins and transferring materials into the truck.
- Follow daily route instructions provided by the driver or dispatch.
- Site Cleanliness & Maintenance:
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization at bin locations.
- Clean and maintain donation bin areas, removing garbage and debris as required.
- Maintains clean and presentable donation sites.
- Safety, Handling & Compliance:
- Follow safe handling practices when working with donations and waste materials.
- Follow basic health and safety requirements, including use of PPE.
- Handle donations safely and in accordance with company guidelines.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Professional Conduct, Reporting & Business Impact:
- Represent the company professionally while working in public areas.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support the driver and daily operations.
- Identify and report issues at bin sites, including overflow, damage, or illegal dumping.
- Improves route efficiency and productivity.
- Supports donation collection targets.
- Helps build a strong public image and community trust
What You Bring - Skills That Turn Heads
- Physically able to lift, carry, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment.
- Previous experience in general labour, warehouse, or waste/recycling work.
- Experience working outdoors or on routes (helper/driver assistant).
- Basic knowledge of safety practices and PPE use.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, not required).
- 0–1 year of related experience.
- Familiarity with donation, recycling, or logistics operations.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs, with occasional heavier items requiring team lifting.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing in and out of trucks throughout the day.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment with continuous movement.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and adapt to changing environmental conditions.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and riding in a truck between collection sites.
- Exposure to dust, odors, and variable conditions associated with donation bins and handling used goods.
- Must be able to follow safe lifting practices and adhere to health and safety protocols at all times.
- Work involves traveling between multiple locations daily as part of a collection route.
