Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Non-Ferrous Scrap Metal Shipping and Receiving Specialist. This position involves handling the shipping and receiving of non-ferrous scrap metals, as well as performing general labour duties when not engaged in loading and preparing materials for delivery.
Minimum 5 years of non-ferrous experience required
Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Accurately process incoming and outgoing shipments of non-ferrous material (gaylords, skids, loose loads).
- Inspect and document materials for quality and compliance.
- Loading and Preparing Materials:
- Safely load and secure materials for transport using a forklift.
- Prepare materials for delivery, ensuring they meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory when receiving.
- General Labour Duties:
- Assist with yard maintenance, including sorting and organizing materials or bale operations.
- Perform manual tasks such as cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas.
- Support team members in various tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, particularly with scrap metal, is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical labor.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn new skills in a dynamic environment
