Position Overview
GlassMasters is looking for an Autoglass Assistant for our location. In this role, you will be working with Autoglass Technicians to ensure the safe and efficient replacement and repair of all automotive glass. You will be responsible for basic shop tasks such as assisting senior technicians in the shop or out on mobile crew, prepping glass, performing rock chip repairs, performing LDWS calibrations, pick-up and delivery service of various account/ customers vehicles, and cleaning the shop and mobile vans.
This is a fast-paced environment with high expectations around efficiency and quality of work, especially during the initial 90-day probationary period. One your initial 90-day probation is completed; a good candidate can be expected to become eligible to partake in our in-house C.I.A Technician Training Program where you will start your journey to become an Autoglass Technician.
Reality of this role is you will be responsible for basic shop tasks such as assisting your senior technicians in shop or out on mobile van, performing rock chip repairs, performing LDWS calibrations, performing pick up and delivery service of our customers vehicles, and cleaning the shop. Its fast paced and there is a lot expected of you to prove yourself in your first 90 days. After this a good candidate can be expected to be rewarded with a career as an Autoglass Technician and be eligible to take part in our C.I.A. Technician training program to start their Autoglass journey. An Autoglass Technician makes between $20-30/hour plus a very lucrative daily productivity bonus program which is paid out quarterly. When broken down into hourly terms, this bonus can increase your wage by up to $30/hour for an extremely productive individual. Ask us about the details.
Responsibilities
- Assist Autoglass Technicians with automotive glass installations and repairs
- Perform rock chip repairs
- Complete LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) calibrations
- Prepare and organize automotive glass for installation
- Load and unload mobile service vans
- Pick up and deliver customer and account vehicles safely and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop and mobile vans
- Deliver excellent customer service
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
