Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated House Parent(s) to provide supportive care and supervision in a residential setting. The role involves overseeing daily living activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a nurturing environment for residents with diverse needs. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities, including dementia and autism. Duties
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with medical directives and HIPAA regulations
- Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health issues or emergencies
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs of residents
- Operate EMR systems for documentation of care activities and resident progress
- Support residents with behavioral management, conflict resolution, and memory care strategies
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely during transfers and assist with heavy lifting when necessary
- Conduct routine cleaning to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Drive residents when needed for appointments or outings, ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Document resident interactions accurately while maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other special needs highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic patient care techniques
- Familiarity with EMR systems and HIPAA compliance required
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred
- Previous caregiving roles involving social work, case management, or hospice care are advantageous
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts required
- Strong conflict management skills coupled with compassionate communication abilities are essential for success in this role
