As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and ensuring food safety standards are met while creating delicious and innovative dishes that delight our guests.
Vylora Café is a modern boutique café opening soon in Ottawa, offering handcrafted coffee, matcha, smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, and fusion desserts — blending Western café favorites with Indian-inspired flavors. We’re searching for an experienced and creative All-Round Café Chef to join our opening team and bring our menu to life.
Duties
- Must have Experienced working with Indian cuisine.
- Supervise kitchen staff and manage daily operations to ensure smooth workflow.
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and standards.
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food service best practices, and safety protocols.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and order ingredients as needed.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
- Monitor food presentation and portion control to maintain consistency in quality.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a café, restaurant, or fast-casual kitchen
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management.
- Experience supervising kitchen staff and managing team dynamics effectively.
- Skilled in preparing diverse cuisines, including Indian and Western fusion dishes.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred.

Pay: From $37,543.83 per year
