Finishing & Flat Line Operator
Our team at North 52 Cabinets is seeking a skilled Cabinet Finisher and Automated Flat Line Operator to join us. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of hand-spraying experience (Painting). We are also willing to train the right candidate in operating the automated flat line. Primary Duties/Responsibilities (but not limited to)
Surface Preparation:
Meticulously sand various materials, including raw wood and MDF, to prepare cabinet components for finishing by removing imperfections and achieving a smooth, flawless surface.
- Sand raw wood and MDF doors to ensure they are ready for finishing.
- Sand primed, painted, or stained wood and MDF components between finishing coats for optimal results.
- Assist with finishing applications and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Stain and Paint Application:
Apply stains, paints, and other finishes using techniques such as hand spraying, automated flat line systems, brushing, and wiping staining, while ensuring adherence to specified requirements.
Color Matching:
Ensuring finish colors align with customer specifications and achieving consistent color uniformity across all cabinet pieces.
Lacquer Application:
Applying lacquer or other protective coatings to seal the finish and enhance durability.
Custom Finishes:
Designing and applying unique effects or decorative finishes on cabinets as requested.
Quality Control:
Conducting thorough inspections of finished cabinets to identify and address defects, ensuring all finishes meet established quality standards.
Other duties will include but not limited to:
· Perform daily routine job duties such as general work area cleaning (workshop, washroom, etc.), machinery maintenance etc.
· Package finished cabinets, parts, products to prep for shipping/transportation
· Assemble finished parts into final products
· Delivery of cabinet packages
Qualifications
· Minimum of 2 years of hand-spraying experience
· Previous experience operating a reciprocating line sprayer considered an asset
· Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
· Must be adaptable and open to changes. Able to switch priorities and multi-tasking based on shifting work focuses/requirements
· Must be physically fit and able to frequently lift assembled cabinets, heavy components, raw materials that weighs up to 60lbs a piece
· Must have reliable personal transportation for work.
· Previous manufacturing experience considered an asset
· Technical training in carpentry, wood working, cabinet making considered an asset
· Technical knowledge of the different types of wood, finishes and their application methods
· Previous experience with wood finishing, painting considered an asset
· Attention to detail. Follow safe work practices. Strong ability to maintain clean/organized work environment in between tasks and at the end of the day is an absolute must!
· Must be able to communicate fluently in English and be eligible to work in Canada
