Electrical Engineer Design Lead

Salary: $120K+ (based on experience)

We’re working with a well-established consulting engineering firm in Ottawa that’s looking to bring on a Senior Electrical Engineer / Project Lead. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a collaborative, close-knit environment and wants to play a meaningful role in both project delivery and the future growth of the firm.
The team is small and hands-on, so this role is ideal for someone who’s comfortable taking ownership, supporting junior staff, and getting involved in different aspects of the business. You’ll work across a variety of commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects, with involvement from early design through to construction.
There’s also an opportunity to become a shareholder, giving you a say in the direction of the business and its long-term growth.
What you’ll be doing:

Lead electrical design and project delivery from concept to completion

Prepare and review designs, specifications, and technical documents

Mentor and support junior and intermediate team members

Coordinate with internal teams, architects, and external consultants

Build and maintain strong client relationships

Contribute to proposals and business development efforts

Manage project schedules, budgets, and overall execution
What you bring:
-
Degree in Electrical Engineering
-
P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or working toward it
-
8+ years of consulting experience, ideally in building systems

Experience with commercial, institutional, or mixed-use projects

Strong technical design skills and knowledge of applicable codes and standards

Comfortable leading projects while staying involved in the details
