Scope:
The Forecast and Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting demand planning, inventory management, and procurement activities to ensure product availability and supply chain efficiency. This role analyzes sales trends, customer demand, inventory levels, and market data to develop accurate forecasts and translate business requirements into purchasing plans. Working closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and suppliers, the Forecast and Purchasing Analyst helps optimize inventory investment, maintain product and purchasing data within ERP systems, monitor supplier performance, and provide reporting and insights that support informed business decisions, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Forecasting & Demand Planning:

Analyze sales trends, production data, and market inputs to create accurate short- and long-term forecasts

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Sales, Finance) to ensure alignment between demand forecasts and business needs

Develop and maintain forecasting tools and models using Excel and ERP system

Track forecast accuracy, report variances, and refine models to improve performance

Communicate forecast insights and risks to stakeholders and participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes
Purchasing & Procurement Support:

Translate demand forecasts into actionable purchase plans for raw materials and components

Monitor inventory levels and safety stock to ensure optimal supply without overstocking or stockouts

Issue and track purchase orders in ERP systems and maintain accurate vendor and item data

Work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, resolve issues, and manage lead times

Analyze pricing trends and cost drivers to support sourcing decisions and cost savings initiatives
Administrative Support:

Create and update product information in ERP

Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activities and product performance for management.

Update landed costs and purchase prices
Skills & Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered

Demonstrated experience in demand forecasting, inventory planning, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably within a manufacturing, distribution, or consumer products environment

Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external suppliers

Proficiency working with ERP systems such as NetSuite (preferred), SAP, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise platforms

Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP functions, Power Query, data analysis, and reporting dashboards

Sound knowledge of supply chain planning, procurement practices, inventory control, and replenishment methodologies

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
