Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Worker to support the daily operations of our horticultural facility. The ideal candidate will assist with plant cultivation, maintenance, and environmental control within the greenhouse environment. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in horticulture and greenhouse management while contributing to the growth of healthy plants and crops.
Duties
- Assist with watering and irrigation systems to ensure optimal plant health
- Perform planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting activities
- Maintain proper environmental conditions by monitoring temperature, humidity, and ventilation systems
- Use hand tools and mechanical equipment for planting and maintenance tasks
- Conduct routine inspections for pests, diseases, and plant health issues
- Assist with cleaning and organizing greenhouse spaces to ensure safety and efficiency
- Support with heavy lifting of plants, soil bags, or equipment as needed
- Record data related to plant growth, watering schedules, and environmental conditions for tracking purposes
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of horticulture principles and gardening practices
- Experience with irrigation systems and plant care is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with hand tools is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 50 pounds)
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Basic math skills for measurements and data recording
- Physical stamina to work in a greenhouse environment, including standing for extended periods and performing manual labor
- Prior experience in gardening or greenhouse work is a plus but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.00 – 48.00 per week
