Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bicycle Mechanic to join our busy bike shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bicycle repair and maintenance with a passion for cycling and customer service. A minimum of 2 seasons working in a brick and mortar bike shop is required for the position. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring bicycles are safe and functioning optimally for our customers. The position offers an engaging environment where technical skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail are highly valued.
Duties
- Diagnose mechanical issues on a variety of bicycle models and brands
- Perform repairs including brake adjustments, gear tuning, wheel truing, and component replacements
- Assemble new bicycles from parts according to manufacturer specifications
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure bicycles meet quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly
- Keep detailed records of services performed on each bicycle
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of bicycle systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
- Experience using power tools for bike repairs and assembly
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently and accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
