Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team. Training pay starts at $18/hr, and will be increased to $20/hr when our trainee has completed their certification course, and is capable of working solo!
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting salon operations, enhancing customer experiences, and contributing to the overall success of our salon. This position requires excellent communication skills, and a passion for genuine customer care. The right candidate should be kind, but firm, as tanning salons are required to abide by a number of regulations, which clients and secret shoppers will sometimes expect you to overlook.
Duties
- Assist team with various tasks to ensure smooth salon operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting clients, answering inquiries, and managing appointments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the salon, including service rooms and common areas.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Support retail sales by merchandising products effectively and conducting product demos.
- Upsell services and products to clients while ensuring their needs are met.
- Manage inventory levels and assist in restocking supplies as needed.
- Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy periods.
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
- Experience in personal care service sales is a must.
- Proficiency in cash handling and cashiering procedures.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly salon environment.
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to promote products effectively.
- Strong phone and email etiquette for handling client inquiries professionally.
- Ability to upsell services while maintaining a positive and genuine customer experience.
