Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Student Front Line Youth Worker to support our shelter from Wednesday-Sunday evening 1600-2230. This role provides an excellent opportunity for students interested in working with youth, fostering a positive environment that encourages growth, learning, and inclusion. The position is ideal for those passionate about teaching, mentorship, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people during the summer months. This position is paid through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and has a maximum of 280 hours, eligible candidates must be returning to college for the fall semester and be between 18-30 years old.
Duties
- Assist in planning and facilitating engaging activities for youth participants.
- Provide supervision and ensure the safety of all participants
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment for all youth.
- Collaborate with team members to implement program goals and adapt activities as needed.
- Maintain a positive attitude and serve as a role model for youth participants.
- Help with setup, cleanup, and organization of program spaces and materials.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or youth is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude are essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with youth and supporting their development during the summer season.
Pay: $17.60 per hour
