Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to lead field operations as a hands-on leader who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional organizational and communication skills. You will be responsible for planning installations, managing daily field operations, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule, while serving as the critical link between project management and the field.
Key Responsibilities
Communication & Coordination
The Field Supervisor serves as the primary communication bridge between Project Managers and field electricians. This role involves relaying scope changes, schedule updates, and daily priorities to crews, while providing clear and timely updates to the Project Management team regarding progress, obstacles, and resource needs.
Post-Award Planning
The Field Supervisor reviews awarded bid documents, blueprints, and specifications, and plans conduit routing, equipment placement, and material staging. They identify potential design conflicts and RFIs early, and forecast labour needs, adjusting crew sizes and assignments to maintain productivity throughout the project.
Project Ownership
This role manages daily on-site operations to ensure milestones and schedules are met. The Field Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the quality of installation, inspections, and overall site flow, while coordinating labour and materials to align with project timelines.
Institutional & Occupied Facility Work
The Field Supervisor navigates the day-to-day requirements of occupied buildings, including managing quiet hours, enforcing dust control and ICRA compliance, and working around active facility operations to minimize disruption while maintaining project progress.
Field Leadership
The Field Supervisor oversees electricians and apprentices across multiple job sites, performing hands-on electrical work as needed to meet deadlines or demonstrate complex installations. This includes work with power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, equipment hookups, backup and emergency power systems, and hospital-grade systems. The Field Supervisor enforces site safety protocols, mentors apprentices, and provides technical guidance to support professional growth.
Service & Troubleshooting
The Field Supervisor also performs service work and troubleshoots installations as required between projects, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and any issues are resolved promptly.

Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (required)
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role in the electrical trade, managing small teams of electricians and apprentices
- Proven commercial electrical experience, including work in occupied facilities such as manufacturing plants, schools, residential towers, malls, and medical buildings
- Hands-on experience with power distribution, lighting, low voltage systems, and emergency/backup power
- Strong understanding of blueprints, specifications, and current electrical codes; fire alarm knowledge is an asset
- Proficient with project management software and Microsoft Office, with strong organizational skills for scheduling, material tracking, and documentation
- Clear communicator with crews and management, able to motivate teams and resolve conflicts under tight deadlines
