Your Opportunity:
The Manager, working in close partnership with the program Director, is accountable for the delivery of high quality, accessible, sustainable, patient and family-focused care in LDR, maternity and Women’s Health clinics. The Manager is accountable for the overall operational leadership for the units. This includes fostering a culture of high quality, collaborative care, and continuous improvement, ensuring the effective deployment of resources, and contributing to the development of and implementing operational plans.
Description:
The Manager is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of LDR, Maternal Child and Women’s Health Clinics at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Actively participates in budget planning; resource allocation; implementing and maintaining clinical best practice standards; workforce optimization; and performance development. Demands demonstrated ability in change management, strategic and collaborative leadership, and ability to engage a multidisciplinary team in providing and optimizing patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications:
Registration with an appropriate Alberta Regulated Health Profession. Progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment in an organization of significant size, complexity, and diversity. Uses strategic thinking, taking into account long-term goals assessing options and implications. Demonstrated ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues. Ability to manage diverse human, financial and physical resources within a complex environment. Strong organizational skills, client-focused orientation, and commitment to providing long-term quality services. Experience in collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Leadership skills, including: effective communication skills, demonstrated ability and comfort with decision-making responsibilities, coaching and teaching, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others. Ability to foster a climate of cooperation among, and build solid relationships with, public agencies, government, boards, committees, and other partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Related bachelor’s degree. Experience in managing a unionized environment. 2 years of Women’s Health management experience & demonstrated ability in analytical decision making, coaching for performance, mentorship/conflict management, & management of diverse human/financial/physical resources in a changing/complex environment. Expertise with electronic health information systems & financial/human resources applications.
