- Draft and prepare pleadings, affidavits of documents, motion records, application records, and briefs
- Prepare and file court documents, including electronic filing through the Ontario court systems
- Schedule and coordinate examinations, mediations, motions, pre-trials, and trials, and manage limitation periods and litigation timelines
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, process servers, court staff, and experts
- Conduct undertakings, prepare productions, and maintain organized, up-to-date files
- Assist lawyers with trial preparation, including document briefs and witness coordination
What you bring
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a civil litigation law clerk in an Ontario firm
- Law Clerk diploma or equivalent (ILCO membership an asset)
- Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure
- Familiarity with the Superior Court of Justice practice directions and local procedures for the Toronto, Central West, and Central East regions
- Proficiency with litigation and e-filing tools - e.g., ACL5/Automated Civil Litigation, Primafact, CaseLines, Teraview, and the Ministry's online filing portals
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
What we offer
- Salary range of $65,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience
- Mostly remote work arrangement
- A collegial team and meaningful, substantive litigation work
