Overview
The Spray Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint and coatings to residential exteriors using spray equipment. This role ensures high-quality workmanship, efficient completion of projects, and adherence to safety standards while delivering exceptional service to homeowners.
Duties
- Spray Painting
- Operate and maintain airless and conventional spray equipment.
Quality and Customer Service
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards.
- Address deficiencies promptly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
- Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with homeowners and clients.
Equipment and Maintenance
- Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, and other painting equipment.
- Safely store paints, materials, and tools.
- Report damaged equipment or supply shortages to the supervisor.
Health and Safety
- Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Safely handle paints, solvents, ladders, and other equipment.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Apply primers, paints, stains, and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
- Ensure even coverage and a high-quality finish.
- Perform touch-ups and corrective work as needed.
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge with experience using hand tools, power tools, welding, and machining equipment
- Familiarity with crane and forklift operation is a plus but not mandatory
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during preparation and application processes
- Experience in manufacturing environments, especially in assembly or finishing roles
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and quality
- Ability to work safely with chemicals, paints, and coatings in a fast-paced setting
- Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity
- Prior experience with welding or machining is advantageous but not required
Qualifications
- Previous residential painting or spray painting experience preferred.
- Experience operating airless spray equipment is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
- Knowledge of painting materials, preparation techniques, and finishing methods.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
