Heights Academy Childcare Centre is a non-profit, play-based childcare centre dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator (Level 2 or Level 3) to join our team.
This position begins as part-time, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time permanent position as enrolment continues to grow.
Responsibilities
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will:
- Plan and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with Alberta's Flight Curriculum Framework.
- Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.
- Create a warm, inclusive, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Observe, document, and support children's developmental progress.
- Maintain daily communication with families.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities while ensuring their health and safety.
- Assist with daily routines, including meals, toileting, rest periods, and transitions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating learning environment.
- Follow Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations, centre policies, and health and safety procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with the Director and fellow educators to provide exceptional care.
QualificationsRequired
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 Certification
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C)
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, professional, and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Knowledge of Alberta's Flight Curriculum Framework.
- Experience using Lillio (HiMama) or similar childcare software.

Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Day shifts
- Approximately 20–30 hours per week initially, with the opportunity to increase to 40 hours per week as enrolment grows.
- No evenings or weekends.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Hold a valid Alberta ECE Level 2 or Level 3 Certification.
- Provide a current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Standard First Aid & CPR certificate before employment.
