The Transfer Station Attendant is responsible for the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of the municipal transfer station.
Transfer Station duties include assisting residents with waste and recycling disposal, monitoring site safety, ensuring compliance with Transfer Station guidelines, maintaining records, and keeping the site clean and organized.
· Open and close the transfer station according to scheduled hours.
· Welcome and assist residents with proper disposal and recycling procedures.
· Monitor incoming waste to ensure prohibited materials are not accepted.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of area
· Monitor disposal bins and report when they require servicing or replacement.
· Complete basic daily records and reports as required.
· Follow all health and safety policies
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Valid Class G Driver's Licence.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Ability to perform physical labour and lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays when required.
The Transfer Station Attendant will be scheduled in accordance with the operating hours of the Town of Gore Bay Transfer Station.
· Summer Season: Minimum of 19 hours per week.
· Winer Season: Minimum of 10 hours per week.
· Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
· Standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Weekend and holiday work required during the operating season.
· Exposure to dust, noise, and waste materials.
