Page The Cleaner is an Edmonton-based, family-owned dry cleaner that has served Albertans since 1935. As one of Alberta’s leading dry cleaners, we pride ourselves on efficiency, quality, and a "customer-first" culture. We are currently looking for a dedicated, part-time Customer Service & Quality Specialist (Counter & Production) to join our team.
The Role: More Than Just a Counter
This is a dynamic role is for someone who has a knack for sales and an eye for detail. You will be the face of our company at the front counter while also playing a critical role in our garment production process.
What You’ll Do
- Store Maintenance: Maintain a high standard of store cleanliness and professionalism, including all necessary janitorial duties (mopping, sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming).
- Sales & Service: Provide expert service advice, clearly communicate essential risk disclaimers, and proactively upsell valuable additional services to enhance the customer's wardrobe.
- Expert Intake & Inspection: Welcome customers, meticulously inspect items at drop-off (checking pockets, identifying fabrics), and accurately apply heat-seal barcodes for reliable 100% item tracking and entering info in our software.
- Operational Excellence: Use Lean principles to reduce waste, manage inventory, and maintain a streamlined, professional workspace.
- The "Final Touch": Work assisting inspecting/detailing route orders, assisting with restoration and quality control to ensure every garment meets our 90-year standard.
- Proactive Follow-up: Manage the "pick-up" list, making service follow-up calls and sending reminders to ensure a smooth customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Attention to Detail: You are curious about fabrics and care labels; you don’t miss a single loose button or faint stain.
- Professional Presence: You are presentable, clean, and maintain a positive attitude even during high-pressure "rushes" or when handling customer complaints.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle/tag garments throughout the day.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: We value someone who looks for ways to simplify tasks and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Flexibility: While based in the West End, you are comfortable commuting to St. Albert as needed.
- Reliability & Punctuality: You are a dependable individual who is consistently on time and committed to meeting shift requirements.
Requirements & Experience
- Education: Secondary School diploma (required).
- Experience: 1 year of Customer Service or Sales preferred. Experience in textiles, laundry, or dry cleaning is a major plus.
- Skills: Strong communication, dependability, and a willingness to learn technical garment care.
