We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Prepared Foods & Meat Production Associate to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing fresh meals and ready-to-eat products, packaging meat, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness. Experience in a grocery store, deli, kitchen, or food production environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh meals, ready-to-eat products, sandwiches, salads, and other heat-and-serve (HMR) items.
- Turn available ingredients into recipes and meal offerings while following company recipes and food quality standards.
- Weigh, portion, tray-pack, wrap, label, and price fresh meat products.
- Prepare and package food according to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor product freshness, rotate inventory (FIFO), and minimize food waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation area.
- Assist with stocking displays and ensuring products are attractively merchandised.
- Follow all health, safety, and workplace procedures.
- Work with team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, grocery, deli, meat department, or commercial kitchen is preferred.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices; Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Ability to follow recipes, portion accurately, and maintain consistent product quality.
- Comfortable handling raw meat and operating basic food preparation equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
