About the Role
As an Optometry Assistant, you'll be the first point of contact for our patients and play an important role in ensuring our clinic runs smoothly. You'll assist with administrative tasks, patient care, appointment coordination, and support our optometrists with day-to-day clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records.
- Assist with pre-testing and basic diagnostic procedures (training provided if needed).
- Keep the clinic organized and maintain accurate documentation.
- Use AI tools to improve workflow, communication, and efficiency.
Essential Requirement
Strong AI Skills
We are looking for someone who is comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, or similar platforms.
You should be able to use AI to:
- Draft professional emails and patient communications.
- Create documents and improve office workflows.
- Organize information and summarize notes.
- Research products and procedures efficiently.
- Solve everyday administrative challenges.
- Use AI responsibly while protecting patient privacy and maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable with computers and learning new software.
- Attention to detail and a positive, patient-focused attitude.
- Previous experience in an optometry, medical, or healthcare clinic is an asset but not required.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is an asset.

Pay: $34,500.00-$39,000.00 per year
