Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Geotechnical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support geotechnical investigations and construction projects by performing data collection, construction inspection, and quality control tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geotechnical principles, excellent analysis skills, and experience in Geo inspection to ensure project standards are met. Responsibilities
- Perform moisture density, sieve analysis, and compression testing for concrete and grout specimens.
- · Proficient in density testing using the Nuclear Densometer.
- · Proficient in defending the acceptability of test results.
- · Perform field concrete and grout testing
- Responsible for carrying out routine tasks in the Material Testing Laboratory including data entry and routine tests as assigned.
- Assured Quality (acted as QA) and inspected project site, evaluated contractor's work (acted as QC) to detect and ensure conformance to design specifications and applicable codes, also prepared reports and documented project activities and data.
- Read and reviewed project blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions of structure, system and material requirements.
- Communicated with supervisor to determine project details, such as plan preparation acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions.
Qualifications
- CCIL Certified for Concrete & Material
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret geotechnical data effectively
- Ability to perform quality inspections on materials
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate documentation
- Prior experience in geotechnical fieldwork is preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift moderate loads as necessary
- Relevant educational background in civil engineering, geology, or related fields is advantageous
