Node.js Developer – JavaScript, Typescript, GitHub, AWS, AZURE, GCP
Toronto ON - Hybrid – 3 Days per Week On-Site
Long Term Contract
- We are seeking a skilled Node.js Developer with strong backend development experience and hands-on expertise in GitHub for source code management, branching strategies, code reviews, CI/CD integration, and collaborative development.
- The ideal candidate will have experience designing and developing scalable APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications while following modern software engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript/Typescript.
- Build, consume, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop server-side logic, database integrations, and application workflows.
Utilize GitHub for:
- Repository management
- Branching and merging strategies
- Pull Requests (PRs)
- Code reviews
- Release management
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Write unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
- Follow Agile/Scrum methodologies and actively participate in sprint ceremonies.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with Node.js development.
- Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and/or Typescript.
Hands-on experience with GitHub, including:
- Repository management
- Branching and merging strategies
- Pull Requests (PRs)
- Code reviews
- GitHub Actions
- Release management
- Experience with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
Strong knowledge of:
- REST APIs
- JSON
- JWT
- OAuth
- API security
Experience with databases such as:
- MongoDB
- PostgreSQL
- MySQL
- DynamoDB
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as:
- AWS
- Azure
- GCP
- Understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and secure coding standards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD implementation.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as:
- Splunk
- Datadog
- Grafana
- ELK Stack
- Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, or large Enterprise environments.
