Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Automotive Technician to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance, providing a foundation for a rewarding career in the automotive industry. The apprentice will work closely with experienced technicians to develop essential skills, gain practical knowledge, and contribute to the efficient operation of our service department. Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with diagnosing and repairing various vehicle issues using hand tools, power tools, and schematics.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Learn to interpret technical diagrams and repair manuals to support vehicle repairs.
- Support the assembly and disassembly of automotive components during repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct light welding and mechanical tasks as needed under supervision.
- Assist with vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and ensure safety standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers about repair needs and progress.
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience or mechanic experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and schematics preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong interest in automotive repair, maintenance, and technical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification related to automotive technology is advantageous. Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
