Responsibilities
- Assists 1st and 2nd cooks in daily food production and presentation of food.
- To set up and tear down the buffet in the Sportsnet Grill, responsible for but not limited to the breakfast buffet.
- Maintain proper par levels of buffet items. Cleans and replenishes buffets as necessary
- Assists First Second and third cooks when required, trains other 3rd cooks were needed
- Makes recommendations to the Executive Chef for improvement of the buffet and brings forward any guest comments or concerns
- Work in accordance with Marriott’s Global food safety
- Report any concerns regarding products, equipment or associate performance to the kitchen management team
- Adheres to food safety and fire laws and established company policies
- Attends and participates in the daily pre-shift meeting
- Demonstrates Advanced art of hosting. Handles guest concerns, compliments and suggestions in a professional manner using LEARN processes and principles. Listen/Empathize/Apologize/React/Notify
- Follows all company and job-specific safety policies, reports any accident and/or hazard immediately
- Undertakes duties as assigned by the Culinary management team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalency
- Previous culinary experience in a high-volume food service operation an asset
- Knowledge of local health, safety and sanitation laws
- Ability to work under pressure & meet deadlines
- Able to lift 50-80lbs.
