Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is looking for a detail-oriented Manufacturing Quality Technician to support quality control activities throughout our manufacturing process. From inspecting incoming materials to verifying in-process fabrication and conducting final product inspections, this role helps ensure that our products consistently meet customer requirements and the high standards expected within the mining, industrial and heavy manufacturing sectors.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with multiple departments while contributing to product quality, continuous improvement and ISO 9001 compliance.

Responsibilities and Duties
Inspection & Quality Control
- Carry out quality assessment measures and inspections of incoming materials, in-process work, and assembled products
- Perform inspections including dimensional checks, machining inspections, line boring inspections, coating inspections, blast profile verification, material verification, and parts verification
- Review drawings, specifications, manuals, and welding processes to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Reject incoming materials, in-process work, or finished products that fail to meet quality expectations and specifications
- Perform and record material verification as required
- Release materials, parts, and products in Epicor as required
- Maintain material certifications and traceability records
- Coordinate calibration of testing and measuring equipment
- Provide support to manufacturing regarding product acceptability decisions
Documentation & Compliance
- Record and report all non-conformances in accordance with company Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
- Review and compile required quality and regulatory documentation including NDT reports, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), welding certifications, and client quality manuals
- Participate in the investigation of non-conformances and corrective action resolution as required
- Participate in internal, customer, and ISO audits
- Ensure compliance with contractual quality obligations, standards, procedures, specifications, and tolerances
Communication & Team Support
- Communicate quality-related issues with production teams, suppliers, contractors, and customers as required
- Participate in the development and review of procedures and work instructions
- Maintain professional behavior, strong teamwork, and a positive attitude at all times
- Assist other departments and provide production support as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment by following company standards, procedures, and legal regulations
- Observe and perform all company safety rules and precautions
- Wear appropriate PPE and follow all workplace safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality-related role within a welding, fabrication, structural steel, or manufacturing environment
- Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and manufacturing processes
- CSA W178.2 Welding Inspector certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Epicor is considered an asset
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence with the ability to travel between sites as required
Education
- High School Diploma required
- Post-secondary education in Quality Assurance, Welding, Manufacturing, or a related field is considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to welding, fabrication, coatings, machining, and industrial equipment
- Adherence to strict safety and quality standards is required
- Travel between company sites may be required
