The Material Handler is an integral part of the bakery, working directly with all stages of production, from mixing to the packaging area and warehouse.
The hours for this position will be 2:30 pm - 11 pm
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and stage material for production.
- Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by forklift or using other material handling equipment such as carts and walkies.
- Read work orders or receive verbal instructions for work assignments
- Complete required tracking sheets accurately.
- Using RF scanners
- Wrap and load pallets of finished goods on to trailers for shipment.
- Loading and unloading of trailers.
- Other duties as required.
- Complying with all safety, food safety, and quality programs.
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience operating a counterbalance forklift
- Basic understanding of food safety, quality processes and process compliance
- Intermediate written and oral communication skills (English).
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
- Able to carry weights up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Able to utilize manual moving equipment including; pallet jacks, and carts
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
