Part-Time; Seasonal (June – September)
Wage & Paygrade: 23.78/hour (PG74) Plus 10% in lieu of Benefits and Vacation.

The Pacific National Exhibition is an iconic institution in BC, famous for bringing generations of people together to celebrate and build memories. This 116-year-old, non-profit organization has an annual operating budget of over $70 million dollars and generates revenue through four activity streams: the 15-day annual summer Fair which averages more than 700,000 people annually, Playland amusement park which welcomes 400,000 guests annually including Fright Nights, and a busy year-round portfolio of events including concerts, trade shows and film, cultural and community events. In total we bring over 2 million people through the site each year. The fourth activity stream is park care and facility maintenance. We are looking for a talented individual to join our PNE Grounds Maintenance team and ensure all areas of the Playland site, including public-access locations in buildings and rides, are maintained in a clean and debris-free manner. Supports the Grounds Maintenance team to ensure site cleanliness standards are being adhered to.

What will you do this year?
In your role as a Playland Groundskeeper I, your primary accountabilities will be to:

Removes debris in active ride areas, adhering to established lock-out procedures.

Cleans ride units, tables, waste receptacles, building structures and related equipment.

Completes before and after season clean-up of both the Playland site and related Grounds Maintenance equipment.

Operate handheld equipment and tools as required, including electric leaf blowers, wet/dry vacuums, and other related maintenance equipment.

Adheres to PNE policies and guidelines.

Performs other related duties as required.
What else?

Previous leadership experience is an asset.

Ability to work under minimum supervision.

WHMIS Certification preferred.

Ability to interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner.

Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.

Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to permit the performance of assigned tasks.

Successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
