Location: Etobicoke, Ontario
Type of Employment: Part-time Independent Contractor - 1 year contract with options to renew.
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled RN/RPN to provide exceptional care to an 11-year-old child in their home.
As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for providing quality care to our client. Shift is fixed Saturday and Sunday 1130am - 630pm OR Monday to Friday 330pm - 830pm.
Nursing Duties:
- Gtube
- Ensuring Seizure protocol is followed at all times
- Dispensing and providing medications to client per the medication schedule
- Charting
- Ensuring fall protocol is followed at all times
- Ensuring safety protocol is followed at all times
- Ensuring client’s overall health and wellbeing is maintained at all times
- Assisting client as need
- Maintain open communication with the child's family and healthcare team
- Willingness to learn and follow parents' directions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, registered with RPNAO/RNAO
- Must have valid CPR and First Aid certification
- Must obtain police vulnerable sector check
- Experience with young children (professionally or personally)
- Excellent communication skills and positive attitude
Skills Needed:
- CPR and first aid for children
- Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication preferred but not necessary
Training:
- Parents and current nurses will provide orientation shifts
- AAC Courses will be provided over Zoom (2-3days), reimbursed for after 3 months probationary period
Pay:
- $43-$46/hour for RPNs
- $53-$56/hour for RNs
- Hired as independent contractors, so no deductions
