Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Class 1 / AZ US Truck Driver based in Ajax, Ontario, to join our energetic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate heavy-duty trucks across the United States, ensuring timely freight delivery while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 / AZ trucks across various routes in the US, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before departure
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, and delivery documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate pickups and deliveries efficiently
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Skills
- Valid Class 1 / AZ commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts for freight handling
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards for transporting goods across borders
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Proven ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently in various environments
