Glasvan Great Dane is a leading provider of commercial vehicle sales, service, and parts. We are seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanic to join an operation in London, Ontario, who will be responsible for providing on-site mechanical services to our client's trailers. This would be working at the same facility daily, in a dedicated company vehicle, on a hard stand, parts on site, full access to kitchen, lounge and washroom, no road calls, clean operation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance and repairs of commercial van and reefer trailers
- Perform diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Troubleshoot and repair any issues identified during diagnostics.
- Carry out preventive maintenance activities such as suspension, brakes, brake adjustments, air systems, wheel ends, doors, interior and exterior damages, electrical, ABS etc
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
- Work independently to prioritize and complete repair and maintenance tasks.
- Work with the service team to order necessary parts and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Drive to client location to perform on-site repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of qualification as a mechanic or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in using diagnostic software and tools.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a noisy environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
