Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Services Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional customer service skills, and a comprehensive understanding of food safety and restaurant management. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring quality food preparation, and maintaining high standards of hospitality to deliver an outstanding dining experience.
Duties
- Manage daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, cooking, and serving processes
- Supervise and train staff members, including interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Oversee food handling procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and food industry standards
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Maintain high levels of customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health codes
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs effectively
- Lead team management efforts by scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and motivating staff to achieve performance goals
- Uphold hospitality standards consistent with hotel or restaurant experience expectations
- Implement food safety protocols and ensure staff adherence to all safety guidelines
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food delivery and quality control
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
- Strong supervisory skills with previous restaurant management or team management experience
- Proficiency in using POS systems such as Micros POS for transactions and reporting
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally
- Knowledge of food handling regulations, safety standards, and hygiene practices
- Leadership qualities with experience in interviewing, training, and developing staff
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Background in hospitality or hotel industry is a plus; barista experience or restaurant experience is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and operational procedures
Education
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
