Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Quotes Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive construction project estimates, collaborating with clients and internal teams to deliver comprehensive proposals. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in construction estimating, project management, and negotiation. Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for products, services, and construction projects based on customer requirements, drawings, and project specifications.
- Prepare and issue competitive quotations in accordance with customer requirements, sales objectives, and project timelines.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to obtain competitive supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, manufacturing, and site teams to determine material, labour, manufacturing, logistics, overhead, installation, and other project costs.
- Develop comprehensive pricing proposals that achieve company profitability targets while remaining competitive.
- Maintain accurate quotation records, estimating databases, pricing schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with the sales team to monitor quotation status, respond to customer inquiries, and support successful project awards.
- Evaluate project risks and recommend appropriate pricing strategies to minimize commercial and financial risk.
- Ensure all quotations comply with company policies, customer specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Prepare and coordinate supplier agreements, purchase agreements, pricing confirmations, and subcontractor documentation to secure approved pricing.
- Regularly review and update material costs, labour rates, supplier pricing, and estimating data to ensure pricing accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain quotation comparison spreadsheets for cost analysis, supplier benchmarking, and management decision-making.
- Maintain product upgrade options and pricing schedules, ensuring all pricing information is current and communicated to the sales team.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to achieve cost-effective project outcomes.
- Generate purchase orders using Buildertrend in accordance with company procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, reduce costs, and streamline quotation and procurement processes while maintaining quality standards.
- Provide administrative and operational support to other departments as required and perform additional duties assigned by the President.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, project management, or related roles within the construction industry
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and vendors
- Solid understanding of construction processes, materials pricing, and labor costs
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple bids efficiently
- Knowledge of construction safety standards and industry regulations is a plus
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
