Title and Authority
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Vice President. This role has no supervisory or managerial authority and no direct reports.
General Description of the Role
The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the day-to-day transactions and actively contributes to the efficient and effective workings of the accounting department by executing these tasks with a strong attention to detail. This role will provide support to department activities, striving to understand the business from the ground up, with specific responsibility for processing, recording, updating, and reconciling information in compliance with established policies. The Senior Accountant is analytical and dependable but above all is confident in their abilities and demonstrates above average communication skills.
Role Accountabilities
- Accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with ASPE.
- Cash management and forecasting.
- Corporate budgeting.
- Management reporting.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment to ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Assist in the automation and improve the efficiency of manual tasks and processes.
- Maintain a positive and supportive working environment.
Specific Tasks
- Monthly and annual financial reporting preparation and analysis including in-depth variance analysis and comparing actuals to forecast and budget.
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual preparation and filling of covenants.
- Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Present financial information to management
- Participate in the external audit preparing all files for review and answer auditor queries.
- Prepare all government reporting for filing.
- Manage capital assets: ensure book values are properly recorded, confirm that approvals (for expenditures/dispositions) procedures are universally followed, and safeguarding is in place.
- Collection of information for annual insurance renewal.
- Monthly and Annual filling of Statistical surveys
- Review and approval of electronic payments.
- Payroll review and entries.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as needed.

- Proficient in computers generally and the Microsoft Office suite of products, Excel in particular.

- Able to easily adapt to new technology and adopt internal workflow systems.
- Someone with experience working with multiple departments or branches.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry and have a working knowledge of operational accounting.
- A college or university diploma/degree, majoring in finance or accounting.
- A CPA designation or currently pursuing one.
- 5+ years of work experience in a comparable role.
- Experience using Extend ERP or other similar manufacturing software.
- Experience using Concur.
- This role is required 100% to work onsite.
Pay: $70,000.00-$100,792.64 per year
