Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
Our maintenance team is seeking a skilled individual to perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks at our buildings and facilities, including the Clubhouse, Pro Shop and subdivision. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding in the use of standard work tools and a wide range of handyman skills including basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roofing, carpentry and excellent problem-solving ability.
The role will be multi-departmental and will also be working with current utilities staff on the operation and maintenance of utilities systems as well as the Maintenance department for grounds maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities
· Perform general plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs.
· Work with current utilities staff to operate and maintain water and sewage treatment facilities – collection of free and total chlorine residuals, water quality monitoring, piping repair and installation, transfer of chemicals, and assistance with preventative maintenance tasks, as required.
· Perform groundskeeping (mowing, string-trimming, brush cutting).
· Maintain accurate, organized reporting by updating logbooks, completing daily maintenance reports, and documenting all work.
· Promote a safe working environment by following all policies, conducting regular checks, and modeling safe work practices such as appropriate PPE use.
· Perform interior and exterior painting/staining, drywall repair, light bulb replacement.
· Assist with project management and organization of sub-contractors on project work.
· Respond to emergency situations related to plumbing, electrical , etc.
· Perform snow removal during the winter season (on-call scheduled rotation).
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with preference to candidates with trades experience or training
- Experience using small power tools and performing basic repairs.
- Ability to work under limited supervision, adaptable, highly organized and able to exercise independent judgement.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, and stoop as part of your daily tasks.
- Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds using correct technique.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while maintaining facilities
Work Experience
· Demonstrated experience in general maintenance through apprenticeships and/or work experience (two or more years preferred).
· Equipment operation experience considered an asset.
Work Schedule
· Part time
· 3 days per week (24-30 hours per week)
Compensation
· $25.90/hour
· This role has the capacity to increase in responsibility and earning potential for the right candidate
