We are hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established mid-sized downtown firm, and are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support a busy Corporate Tax practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to four years of experience in a corporate, tax, or business law environment and will be responsible for managing files, preparing and organizing complex documentation, and providing high-level administrative support to lawyers handling sophisticated tax and corporate matters in a fast-paced practice.
Job Function:

Assist lawyers with corporate tax matters, including preparing and reviewing corporate filings, tax documentation, and supporting schedules
- Draft, format, and proofread legal correspondence, agreements, and transactional documents
- Maintain and organize client files, ensuring compliance with firm procedures and confidentiality requirements
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings to support tax and corporate matters
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, calls, and deadlines for lawyers and clients
- Manage document flow for corporate transactions, tax filings, and corporate governance matters
- Liaise with clients, accountants, government agencies, and other professionals as required
- Support lawyers with due diligence, corporate reorganizations, and compliance tasks
- Track and monitor deadlines for filings, corporate resolutions, and tax-related obligations
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and reporting for corporate and tax matters
Key Competencies:

Strong understanding of corporate and tax law procedures, filings, and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
- Proficient in legal research, document preparation, and proofreading
- Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clients, accountants, and internal teams
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and compliance with regulatory standards
- Proficiency with practice management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and document management systems
