St. Mary’s Home (SMH) is a not-for-profit charitable organization providing specialized community support services to marginalized pregnant and parenting youth (ages 12-29), and their infants and children (0 to 5). Position Summary:
The Program Facilitator’s responsibilities are to develop and implement the relevant programs as appropriate to the requirements established for the project. The role will include program development, implementation, facilitation, coordination, promotion and evaluation.
Responsibilities:
Program Development, Delivery and Coordination
· Develop and implement program guidelines and activities;
· Conduct ongoing promotion and evaluation of project and program activities;
· Create engaging content for social media platforms to increase community engagement involvement and awareness;
· Monitor and analyze social media metrics to track the effectiveness of promotional efforts and adjust strategies accordingly;
· Supervise and coordinate activities of students and volunteers;
· Ensure that programs can be implemented effectively in both official languages;
· Participate in relevant, annual continuing education;
· Additional duties as required by the needs of the Agency;
· Support program evaluation requirements by collecting feedback from participants and stakeholders to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement;
· Assist in data collection and reporting processes, including compiling and analyzing, program metrics;
· Identify changing needs and program gaps within SMH and the community and bring these to the Program Manager, along with suggestion on how to address such gaps.
Participant Services
· Plan, facilitate and coordinate participant group and program activities;
· Support program participants in gaining knowledge regarding prenatal, parenting, life skills, and nutritional health;
· Receive and act upon referrals received for relevant programs; and
· Refer participants to community services as necessary.
Community Interface
· Provide programs onsite and in different locations within the community;
· Maintain and distribute knowledge of pertinent community resources;
· Actively promote programs and services within the community through social media and outreach;
· Work closely and in collaboration with community organizations to provide and promote programs through joint facilitation of events and workshops;
· Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the community to maintain and increase support and participation in program activities;
· Additional duties as required by the needs of the Agency.
Required Knowledge and Skills
· Pre, postnatal and parenting knowledge and expertise is considered an asset;
· Group facilitation expertise and excellent communication skills;
· Ability to adapt to different working environments and a flexible work schedule, including some early evening and occasional weekend work;
· Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
· Empathy, compassion and enthusiasm when working with young parents; and
· Ability to communicate in both official languages is required.
Schedule: Monday to Friday and occasional weekends
Work Location: In person at our Centre and Outreach in the Community
Pay: $42,000.00-$44,000.00 per year
