Africanada Imports Inc. is a dry food processing and packaging company focused on sustainability and cross-border agricultural trade. We process and distribute authentic African food products across Canada, bringing culturally significant foods to local communities.
This role is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs and other program and is ideal for youth seeking practical experience in food production, packaging, logistics, and retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Repackage, seal, and label dry food products according to Canadian packaging standards
- Perform basic quality control and product inspection checks
- Assist with inventory counts, stock organization, and order fulfillment
- Support shipping, receiving, and logistics operations
- Operate POS/cash register and assist customers when needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Help with production records, tracking sheets, and administrative tasks
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection status
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Qualifications
- No prior experience required. Training provided
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Able to lift up to 20 kg
- Comfortable using a cash register or POS system
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills
