Overview
Muenster Cooperative Childcare Center (MCCC) is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Centre Director to oversee the opening of the center, and operations of our daycare. Located in Muenster, Saskatchewan, MCCC will cater to families from Muenster as well as surrounding rural municipalities, with a capacity for 45 children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procedures to ensure the smooth operation of the childcare center.
- Ensure compliance with The Child Care Act of Saskatchewan and the Child Care Regulations of Saskatchewan.
- Attend board meetings, providing written reports and valuable advice to the board.
- Collaborate with the board to make informed decisions for the benefit of the childcare center.
- Complete monthly financial tasks such as billing, payables, receivables, and payroll.
- Purchase necessary services, supplies and equipment according to the operating budget.
- Complete annual licensing requirements and ensure MCCC operates in full compliance with regulatory standards.
- Arrange staff scheduling to maintain appropriate ratios.
- Train and mentor staff members, ensuring they meet high quality care standards.
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews and recruit new staff as required.
- Ensure the implementation of appropriate developmental programming.
- Oversee menu planning to provide nutritious meals for the children.
- Maintain effective communication with families, addressing parent concerns promptly.
- Act as a liaison between the board and parents to foster positive relationships.
Skills
- Minimum of a Level III Early Childhood Education or with a valid exemption.
- Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of the Board with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to supervise and support staff with diverse levels of experience, cultural backgrounds, and education.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English for operational and safety purposes.
- Proficiency in computer use.
- Ability to foster a positive sense of community among staff, children, and families.
- Ability to secure programs and grants to support the Muenster Cooperative Childcare Center.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR and Food Safe.
- Successful completion of Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
