Pillar5 is seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Automation Technologist to support the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our automated systems. In this role, you will support daily operations by resolving technical issues, improving system efficiency, and ensuring equipment performs reliably through regular testing and inspections. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong technical expertise, capable of working across teams to resolve issues and optimize processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of automated systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Develop and implement automation strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure the proper functioning of equipment.
- Create and update documentation for automation processes and procedures.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in automation technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or degree in Automation Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with automated systems, preferably in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs (e.g., Rockwell) and HMI systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Vision system experience is an asset.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 per year.
