Assistant Robotics Coach (Part-Time)
Location: Richmond, BC
RoboPlanet is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Robotics Coach to support our robotics education programs.
No teaching experience is required. Training will be provided.
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on skills, mechanical building experience, and basic programming knowledge who enjoys working with children and teenagers.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Coach in delivering robotics classes and team activities
- Support students with robot building, programming, testing, and troubleshooting
- Prepare classroom materials, equipment, and learning resources
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and positive learning environment
- Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and student engagement
- Provide additional coaching support during competitions, workshops, and special events as needed
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on skills and mechanical building ability
- Experience with robotics, engineering projects, maker activities, or similar technical hobbies
- Basic programming knowledge (Scratch, Blockly, Python, or similar)
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work well in a team
- Enjoy working with children and teenagers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English
- Mandarin and/or Cantonese is considered an asset
- Available to work Saturdays and/or Sundays between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Flexible schedule and willing to work as an on-call/substitute coach when needed
- Legally eligible to work in Canada (valid work authorization and SIN required)
Training
Teaching experience is not required.
Comprehensive training will be provided for all successful candidates.
